Mid-Iowa Community Action,
Inc., is a private, non-profit organization serving children and families in
central Iowa. MICA's mission is to break the pattern of family pain in
Hardin County. MICA provides many programs such as nutrition and health
services, heating assistance, after-school activities, emergency assistance,
family development, as well as Head Start and Early Head Start.
Child Health
Program and Diagnosis and Treatment Services
| MICA staff works with families to ensure
children will have access to the health care system. MICA helps
families obtain the services they need as well as ensure children have
a medical home where they receive both well child physicals, and care
during illness. Any child who is uninsured or underinsured is
eligible to receive a voucher to pay qualified visits to their
physician. MICA shares funding with Greenbelt for an immunization
nurse at all WIC clinics.
