Mid-Iowa Community Action,
Inc., is a private, non-profit organization serving children and families in
central Iowa. MICA's mission is to break the pattern of family pain in
Hardin County. MICA provides many programs such as nutrition and health
services, heating assistance, after-school activities, emergency assistance,
family development, as well as Head Start and Early Head Start.
Maternal Health

MICA provides nursing,
dental, and nutrition education for pregnant women. MICA has a
bilingual Social Worker to assist non-English speaking families. MICA
assists in providing some services and fulfilling needs such as
prenatal vitamins. This service is also available at WIC Clinics.
