EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIALIST

The position of Early Childhood Specialist was created to serve under the umbrella of the Hardin County Empowerment Area and its board.  The Early Childhood Specialist serves as a liasion between the HCEA Board and community service partners and entities providing early childhood services such as CCR&R, Head Start, AEA, ISU Extension, etc.  The position also exists to help raise public awareness of early childhood issues in Hardin County and to provide technical assistance, support and leadership.  The Early Childhood Specialist also represents the Hardin County Empowerment Area at local and state meetings and activities.  It is also the responsibility of the Early Childhood Specialist to research and promote best practices in the areas of healthy mental development, screening and referral, literacy development, and family support programs that benefit children 0-6 years of age.
