Hardin County Empowerment Mission: The mission of the Hardin County Empowerment Area is to improve the well-being of children ages birth through age 5 and their families.  HCEA hopes to "empower" local citizens by organizing services that work to raise the quality of life for children.  The HCEA and its board are particularly interested in supporting, through Empowerment funding, programs that will:
 
  • Ensure children are fully immunized
 
  • Ensure children have access to health care
 
  • Provide parents with the skills and resources needed to raise children in a health and safe environment.
 
  • Support quality improvements to preschools
 
  • Provide tuition scholarships
 
  • Provide early literacy development
 
  • Prepare children to succeed in school
 
  • Increase awareness of early childhood issues.

HARDIN COUNTY EMPOWERMENT BOARD

The objectives and purposes of the Hardin County Empowerment Board are to enable local citizens to lead collaborative efforts involving education, health and human service programs on behalf of the children, families, and other citizens residing in Hardin County.  The focus of empowerment area activities are to improve the quality of life for families and young children.  The board is comprised of 51% citizens and/or elected officials, and 49% agencies.  Membership reflects education, health, human services, business, faith, and public interest throughout the HCEA.
